On August 25, Disability Lead’s Board of Directors elected and welcomed two new members: Azeema Akram and Natae Eaves.

Their elections raise the number of Disability Lead’s active board members to thirteen — six identify as having a disability and five are people of color. Azeema and Natae will play a vital part in moving our ambitious agenda forward.

“Azeema and Natae bring a wealth of legal, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) advancement, and strategic experience to our Board and organization,” says Disability Lead ’s Board President Ann Manikas, “and we are so fortunate to have access to their knowledge and expertise.”

Executive Director of Disability Lead Emily Blum looks forward to working closely with Azeema and Natae. “I know their strong commitment to disability inclusion and equity in Chicago will make our organization better and more impactful,” she says.
