Connections

Disability Lead plus sign icon.
A group of people of various ages, races, genders, and abilities sit around a messy conference table covered in papers and refreshments, smiling at someone off camera.

Our Leaders

We believe that our leaders will change the world. At the heart of our work, we ensure there are strong disability perspectives in leadership spaces. By connecting our leaders to civic engagement opportunities, we believe our leaders can and will create solutions for our most intractable social problems because they are inherently disability issues.

Civic Engagement

We define civic engagement broadly to realize our vision that people with disabilities will lead with power and influence, in spaces like:

  • Nonprofit leadership on boards and associate boards
  • Public service through professional positions and participation on boards, committees, and taskforces at all levels of government
  • Professional leadership positions in all sectors – public, private, and nonprofit
  • Leadership within organizations to advance disability inclusion
  • Serving as a speaker or panelist
  • And more!

Get Involved

Get involved, today! We convene peers, partners, and communities to reveal solutions that create equity and inclusion. Be a disability disruptor by connecting our leaders to your organization. To become a partner in our work contact Risa Jaz Rifkind at rrifkind@disabilitylead.org or 312-994-4215.
