
Matt Perry is a mental health worker, disability advocate, and writer. He is currently the team lead on a community peer support team at Thresholds. He holds an M.P.P.A. and a J.D. and hopes to transfer these degrees into work in public policy. He is a staff writer at The Squeaky Wheel, the nation’s first disability satire website, and helps organize the Chicago portion of Squeakyfest, an annual disabled comedy festival put on by The Squeaky Wheel in multiple cities across the country. He is also a novelist, having written and self-published a Mad novel, A Revolution of the Mind. Previously he was the project coordinator on a SAMHSA grant to organize mental health consumers in Illinois. He continues to organize around Mad Pride and disability, mostly for arts and cultural events pertaining to these issues. He is open to outreach and communication about any of the things mentioned above.
