Asher McMaher

Asher McMaher (they/them) is the Executive Director of Trans Up Front IL and Senior Advisor for Brave Space Alliance, with over a decade of advocacy experience supporting transgender and gender-expansive youth. With a background in legal research, Asher has shaped policies and led campaigns, including Chicago’s TDoV protest and the rapid action response for U.S. v. Skrmetti. Recently a featured speaker at the Human Rights Conference in Washington, DC for World Pride, they are also a frequent presenter at conferences and workshops on transgender issues, legal protections, and community empowerment.
